Artist Statement

I make art because art gives me the ability to reflect deeply on certain aspects of the human condition. Art lets me say what words fail to do, instigating and reflecting about the human condition.

Simple, accurate and deep are the words that define my work. Simple lines, primary colors or even empty volumes can be as enigmatic and overwhelming as our mind and perception can attain. Mastery of the simple yet deep in expression and meaning is a primary challenge that I include in my work.

What inspires me is the enigmatic world of expression. The ability to dive deep in my feelings and reflections while I am working on a certain piece of art and the fascinating connection that the spectators are able to make while interacting with my art.

Self concept and self positioning with others is part of my investigation. The false idea that we are separate from each other is passed through in our society. This illusion gives our minds two major tools to torture ourselves; the feelings of incompleteness and fear in all it’s disguising forms. And these are the main ingredients that create and feed the inflated EGO.

Wanting to understand the mind and the mechanism of consciousness is like looking through a keyhole to an enigmatic new space. We think we have a clear idea about it all, but all we know is a bit of what we see through the keyhole.

Where is the beauty in all these paradigms? How to present this in a poetic way that transmit this concept and give the spectator a deep connection with this issue? What is my intention? Is it to explain or to draw a larger question mark? Is it to enchant with beauty or to dither with disease?

“We are, if anything, intense subsequent waves of emotions carrying thin layers of feelings with them. Paradoxically, – Commanding and obeying simultaneously our mental states that define us and our attitude in the world.”
